Five Years of Prosperity: Celebrating Purpose, People & Progress

Five years ago, Prosperity Care & Wellbeing started out with a bold vision: care can be different, it can be personalised, and it can improve quality of life.

What started as a small spark is now a multi‑regional organisation of more than 300 passionate team members supporting individuals across England.

And while this growth presents exciting opportunities to support more people, our values, rooted in empathy, bravery, and collaborative strength, remain the same.

This anniversary isn’t about numbers: it’s about people. About voices once unheard now amplified. About independence gained, confidence grown, and lives lived on their terms.

These are just some of the incredible people we support, and what they’ve achieved. And they are the reason we do what we do.

Our Beginnings: Care at Our Core

Prosperity was founded to answer a simple but urgent question: ‘How can we deliver care that is personalised, tailored and genuinely suited to the individual? From day one, ‘Care at Our Core’ wasn’t a slogan, it was the starting line for every care plan, every hire, and every decision.

Those early days were very hands‑on, but we listened more than we spoke, we learnt from the challenging moments, and we said yes when others said, ‘That’s not possible’.

Brave & Bold: Growing Through Challenge

We didn’t get here by playing it safe. We knew we had to continue being brave and bold, even when the world turned upside down. Through the COVID‑19 pandemic, changing legislation, workforce pressures and now new immigration rules affecting overseas sponsorship, we stayed solutions focused. From adapting rotas, supporting staff wellbeing, protecting the people we support, and innovating service models that prioritise independence over restriction, it hasn’t been easy, but we found creative solutions to ensure we could continue offering the best quality care.

Champion Every Individual: Voices That Matter

True progress shows up in people’s lives. In everyday wins. In dignity, choice and having a voice.

These voices lead us. They shape services, training, policy conversations and how we show up every day.

Stronger Together: The Unsung Heroes of Care

Behind every milestone stands a team of extraordinary support workers, the quiet strength that empowers people to live fulfilling lives. Too often unseen, they lift, listen, advocate, laugh, problem‑solve and stay late when it matters. For five years we’ve worked to raise their voices, celebrate their impact and make sure their stories are heard.

Our fifth anniversary campaign hands them the mic: here’s what care means to them, and why what they do matters.

Innovation & Impact: What We’ve Built Together

Prosperity Care & Wellbeing’s five-year journey is marked by positive outcomes, innovation and recognition, including being rated ‘Outstanding’ by The Care Quality Commission for delivering Well-Led services and rated ‘Good’ in all other areas. The below accolades mean the world to us and help us to attract and maintain the very best people in the sector who in turn provide the best care and support:

Best Home Care Employer in the UK (The Great British Care Awards 2025)

The Employer Award (National Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2025)

Excellence in Social Care Training (Gloucestershire Care Providers Association 2024)

Culture & Diversity Award (Circle 2 Success 2023)

Best Place to Work in Gloucestershire (Gloucestershire Live 2022)

We’re also really proud of the supported living services we’ve launched throughout our journey so far, including a partnership with Advance Housing, Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board and mental health services, offering tenants their own apartment within a community which is supported by qualified and experienced care and wellbeing professionals. This collaborative approach demonstrates the effectiveness of removing barriers to give tenants the right support, at the right time and in a place they can call home.

We have created supported living alternatives tailored to residents’ unique needs, which are imperative to reducing hospital stays and restrictive practices.

Celebrating Five Years: Inclusive Events That Honour Everyone

To mark the milestone, we celebrated in the way that reflects who we are:

  • An afternoon tea for the people we support and families

An accessible, relaxed, joyful event featuring a Prosperity’s Got Talent show, giving people a space to shine as performers or judges.

  • A staff dinner, dance and awards ceremony

Good food, dancing, laughter and recognition for the teams who bring our values to life.

Inclusivity isn’t an afterthought; it’s built in. Quiet spaces, accessible routes and labelled dietary options, because celebrating only matters if everyone can take part.

Better Every Day: Learning, Training, Improving

Being recognised once isn’t enough. We aim to be better every day.

We continue to offer robust training pathways to staff, linked to recognised qualifications.

We prioritise mentorship and development for support workers wanting to climb the career ladder.

We collaborate with people we support on service design, recruitment and tailoring care to their needs and preferences.

We encourage our staff and people we support to share their experiences, positive or negative, to create feedback loops that get actioned and responded to.

By embedding continuous improvement into our day-to-day work, we can see progress happening one insight at a time.

Looking Ahead: Growing Up

We’ve got exciting plans to expand across two new locations. We will be opening a new base in Manchester to serve the city and neighbouring counties, and are also creating services in Swindon, where we are a named provider of support services on behalf of Swindon Borough Council.

We’ve thought carefully about growing the right way. It’s not about ticking boxes, it’s about building strong teams, keeping our values front and centre and making sure every step forward still feels like ‘us’. Expansion means more people get the chance to live fulfilled lives on their terms.

Thank You: What’s Next…

Five years in, our purpose is clearer than ever: we must champion every individual. We must have care at our core. And we are always stronger together.

To everyone who’s walked this path with us: the people we support, families, staff, partners, local communities, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Here’s to the next five years of raising voices, reimagining care and being brave and bold together.
